La Patrona Ranch

Lago Cholilo is a 100 meter deep spring fed lake at the base of the Andes and in the heart of Patagonia.

To keep the land from being damaged, only one per hundred acres is allowed.

The ranch house was made by hand with wood and material from the property. A refuge of quiet.

Jon Freeman
Owner and founder Jon Freeman has travelled around the world working for Green Peace and has distinguished himself as a graduate of the Merchant Marine Academy, and earning Masters Degrees from both Johns Hopkins Univeristy, and the University of Virginia, Darden School of Business.

Lago Cholilo
This is Patagonia and probably the most beautiful place on Earth. It has a climate slightly cooler than prime wine country of Mendoze Argentina, and is blissfully free of the commercial "eco-tourism" that has sprung up hours to the north.

FUN
The point of La Patrona is to do what is compelling, what stirs passion in us. To build value without imposing our values or concepts of progress on the community - but to be a part of the community.

Joe Jost
Joe Jost, Co-Founder, has worked in IT, and government service. Joe recently took the leap into cattle ranching and also earned his Masters of Business Administration from University of Virginia's Darden School of Business.

Cows
Grass and spring water fed, these Herefords have a heavy reddish coat and white faces that distinguish them froma distance. They are let to roam around the 1000 acres of clean, beautiful land. Lucky cows.
